Hope Valley Amateur League, Division B
Hayfield 2 JBM Sports 2 (att 50)
It's a while since the residents of Hayfield had a team playing regularly in the village. The club was out of senior football for a few years, and when it did return homes games were played in Chapel-en-le-Frith.
They're back home now though, and there was a decent turnout at their Bank Vale Road home to see them take on table-topping visitors from Sheffield, JBM Sports.
JBM are closing in on the title, but they had to come from two goals down before getting a hard-earned point against a battling Hayfield.
The away side started well, but failed to take early chances and then fell behind to a well taken goal. Hayfield's supporters had more to cheer when their team doubled the lead, but JBM halved the arrears just before half time.
It was 2-2 after about an hour. The second half had fewer goals than the first but there was no shortage of drama. Both sides came close to scoring and the play was end to end. Some of the football was surprisingly good for the third tier of the Hope Valley Amateur League.
Hayfield's ground is a typically scenic but basic Hope Valley venue. There's an adequate car park, from where the football pitch is on the far side of the playing field.
