Ceredigion League, Division Two
Pencader United 7 Ffostrasol Wanderers 3 (att 188)
On another day this game might have been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, but as a "groundhop" game with a large crowd it went ahead, and provided fantastic entertainment in the mud.
Both these clubs are aiming for promotion back to the Ceredigion League's top divsion, and it was Pencader who came out emphatically on top.
They led 3-1 by half time, and scored some great goals as they racked up four more during an all-action second period. Visitors Ffostrasol played their part as well, in a game that was great fun to watch, and a credit to the league.
I liked Pencader's ground, and lots of work had apparently been done recently to level the pitch. A small covered standing area, looking down onto the pitch, came in handy for those able to squeeze into it as the rain fell for most of the game, but was the sort of match where the weather didn't matter at all.
