6.30pm 9 April 2013
Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League, Premier Division
Llansannan 1 Old Colwyn 3 (att 14)
This game was my plan B, having earlier arrived at Kinmel Bay's ground to discover it was off as visitors Connahs Quay Town couldn't muster 11 players. After a swift drive a few miles inland I was relieved to find players warming up on Llansannan's picturesque pitch.
It was certainly a more pleasant place to watch football than Kinmel Bay, with park benches strategically positioned overlooking the pitch, roped off on one side, below. A river runs beside the pitch on the far side, and snow-topped hills surround the village.
On the pitch it wasn't bad either. Plenty of effort and endeavour from both sides making up for what may have been lacking in skill.
All the goals came in the second half. Old Colwyn scored twice in quick succession, before the home side pulled one back. As Llansannan pushed for an equaliser they were caught on the break and Old Colwyn added a third.

Thanks for the kind review - hope you enjoyed your visit. As we are a small village club we haven't got the volunteers to offer matchday cups of tea, food ect!! - but thrive to be as welcome as we can!
