Eli Lilly v Old Holts reserves

6.30pm  16 April 2013

Liverpool County Premier League, Division Two
Eli Lilly 1 Old Holts reserves 3 (att 13)

It's tricky to keep track of venues in the Liverpool County Premier League, but I think this was the only outstanding ground I needed to recomplete it ... at least until next season gets underway.

Eli Lilly - the pharmaceutical company has a base in Liverpool - play at the new-looking Halewood Leisure Centre. It's just a pitch, not roped or railed, in a large playing field to the rear of the centre.

Although probably more by accident than design, the overhanging roof at back of the leisure centre building does provide some cover for spectators standing behind the goal.

As for the game, and strong a chilly wind and a hard and bumpy pitch didn't provide the best of conditions for good football. The sides scored a goal each in a poor first half, but the entertainment improved in the second period, as Old Holts scored twice to take the points.
