Burscough 3 Ashton Athletic 1 (att 145)
It didn't take Burscough long to score the first competitive goal at their new ground, they went ahead well inside the opening minute.
That set them on their way to a comfortable win, although Ashton Athletic played their part in an enjoyable encounter.
The home side had doubled their lead before half time, but Ashton were more in the match after the break and deserved the goal which halved the deficit. Any doubts about the outcome were settled when Burscough got a late third.
Burscough's new Community Ground won't win any design awards, at least not yet, but it's a work in progress and does mean they have a base back in Burscough, after a spell of groundsharing elsewhere.
The new ground is right next to the site of their former Victoria Park home, which is being swallowed up by a housing development.
At present the only spectator accommodation is a low seated stand, oddly sighted to face the setting sun. There's plenty of space around the artificial pitch for further additions though, and on the evidence of this match there's enough local interest to justify them.
