Grendon Rangers v Pitstone and Ivinghoe

12 noon  6 April 2015

Spartan South Midlands League, Division Two
Grendon Rangers 1 Pitstone and Ivinghoe 6 (att 43)
An early start for the first game of a football-filled Easter Monday in the village of Grendon Underwood, between Bicester and Aylesbury.

Grendon Rangers ground is fairly typical of village playing field set-ups in this part of the country. The changing rooms are housed in a building which serves as the community hall, while the roped off pitch is on the far side of the field, with a pair of dugouts on the far touchline, and a wooden shelter set back from the pitch.

In nice weather it was pleasant place to watch a game of football. Chances are the view from the Grendon dugout wasn't as pleasant, as the home side were comprehensively beaten by a Pitstone side who scored three in each half.

It was too one-sided to be a particularly entertaining game, but it's always good to see a few goals and it was a nice ground to visit,
