Gildersome Spurs Old Boys 2 Ealandians 2 (att 26)
You might think the premier division would be the pinnacle of the Yorkshire Amateur League, but these two sides are among several battling it out for promotion to the grandly-titled supreme division.
A point apiece didn't really help either team's chances, but Gildersome will still look upon it as a decent result, having fought back from 0-2 down. Their equaliser came with time running out.
What time they did have was a little diminished. A late start and another damp and gloomy April evening meant two slightly truncated halves, of 42 minutes by my watch.
Ealandians scored early and had the better of the first half. They doubled their lead soon after the break before Gildersome's comeback. It was a lively game between two good sides, and the home team deserved their draw.
Gildersome have played elsewhere previously, but this season use a pitch at Street Lane Recreation Ground, which is just across the road from Gildersome Sports Club.
