I rarely see matches in the Thames Valley Premier League but this fixture fitted neatly after an overnight stop in Cirencester and ahead of a 5.30pm kick off a few miles north of Reading.
Not only that, it was also a chance to see if Yateley United could maintain a remarkable 100% winning record in the league. Needless to say the title is already won.
They kept on track for a perfect record thanks to a win that wasn't easy, despite the benefit of a goal after just three minutes.
Yateley failed to build on their early lead and Burghfield remained in the game. It was well into the second half before a second away goal put the outcome beyond doubt. A stoppage time penalty provided some consolation for the hosts.
Burghfield play at a village recreation ground in Burghfield Common, a few miles outside Reading. It's a pleasant set up, on a sunny day at least, with a roped off football pitch.
