On a damp and gloomy evening in Oldham, Chadderton Park Sports Club kept up their title challenge with a win that was hard fought if ultimately comfortable.
They were ahead early but it didn't take Bury Amateur long to equalise. The visitors then enjoyed their best spell in the game, coming to close to going in front.
The visitors failed to score though, and the home side regained the lead and then extended their advantage to 3-1 by half time.
The fast and furious action continued in the second period, but without any addition to the score until a Chadderton Park penalty in the final minute. Bad light meant the game was, sensibly, reduced to two 40-minute halves.
Chadderton Park play at Crossley Playing Fields, a venue that's provided a home ground to various clubs over the years. There are four pitches, with room for a fifth.
