Nottinghamshire Senior League, Premier Division
Southwell City 1 AFC Dunkirk 1 (att 248)
It's been quite a season for Southwell City FC. They've moved into a new home ground and won the Nottinghamshire Senior League.
With the title secured this game was more of a celebration than a desperate desire for three points, but they'll have been disappointed to have conceded a stoppage time equaliser.
The prospect of any goals had looked remote during a dull first half, but Southwell upped their game after the break and soon went ahead. They had chances to extend their lead but failed to take then, paying the price when Dunkirk scored.
The football club has moved just beyond Southwell itself into neighbouring Brinkley. The ground is a work in progress. There's a good clubhouse, the pitch is fenced off, with dugouts, some hard standing and a small covered area.
I understand that floodlights and further improvements are planned in time for the club to cap a successful season with promotion to step six. A good Bank Holiday crowd suggests local support won't be a problem.
