West Lancashire League, Division Two
Astley and Buckshaw 3 Charnock Richard reserves 0 (att 63)
Astley and Buckshaw are new to the West Lancashire League, and this win continued their solid start to life at this level.
Two well-taken goals in quick succession were the highlights of a first half that was otherwise low key.
After the break a third goal confirmed a deserved and comfortable home win, although the visitors had chances and were unfortunate not to at least manage a consolation.
Astley and Buckshaw are neighbouring communities just outside Chorley. As far as I'm aware the football club's senior men's team is a new development for this season, at least in Saturday football.
They're based at Brookfields Park, a new-looking facility that's shared with Chorley rugby club. The grass pitch is used for both sports, and is next to a pavilion that houses a smart bar as well as changing rooms. Adjoining the pavilion, facing the pitch, are four steps of uncovered terracing.
