Doncaster Saturday League, Division One
Armthorpe Rovers 2 Tickhill 11 (att 33)
This was the second time I've seen Tickhill in eight days, and on both occasions they've scored double figures.
The scale of their win away to the league's bottom side was no surprise, and credit is due to Armthorpe Rovers for fulfilling the fixture when other clubs might have settled for a walkover against them.
The home side would have been buoyed by a win on Saturday, which doubled their points tally for the season, but from the moment they conceded a second minute opener it was clear there'd be no repeat.
By half time Tickhill had scored seven without reply. Goal number eight came early in the second half, but then Rovers rallied with two goals in quick succession. Any hope they had of 'winning' the second half evaporated with the red card they got with 30 minutes left.
They only conceded three more though, and their goalkeeper pulled off some very good saves to keep the score down.
Armthorpe Rovers play in Sandall Park, a large public park in Doncaster. There's no facilities, unless you count a boating lake and a playground, but there's worse places to spend a warm evening.
