Renhold United v Sandy

1.45pm  10 October 2015

Bedfordshire County League, Premier Division
Renhold United 2 Sandy 0 (att 119)

The morning's goal glut at Sharnbook carried over into the first five minutes of day's second game, as table-topping Renhold tore into Sandy and quickly went 2-0 up.

Early on, the home side looked capable of scoring with every attack, but despite the great start they failed to capitalise on their chances, and there were no more goals.

For their part, Sandy recovered from their bad start and made a decent game of it, although they never looked likely to threaten Renhold's lead.

Renhold United is another Bedfordshire club based on a roped off pitch on the village playing field. The long entrance track, from the main road through the village, goes past a large pile of rubble, which apparently used to be the local pub.

From the entrance the pitch runs lengthways, with temporary dugouts on the left hand side. The changing rooms are housed in a pavilion some distance from the pitch, with the space in between used, on this occasion at least, for car parking.
