Castle Park v Flint Mountain

6.30pm  18 August 2015

North East Wales League
Castle Park 2 Flint Mountain 7 (att 16)

I seem to be on a run of high-scoring matches at the moment, but an easy away win was predictable in a league that's rarely short on goals.

Flint Mountain's winning margin was harsh on the home side, after they'd battled back from a two goal half time deficit to draw level. With better luck in front of goal they might have led, but there was no stopping the visitors once they scored their third.

In theory this was a Flint derby, but the hosts have vacated their former home in the town to play at North Street in Saltney Ferry, just on the Welsh side of Chester's suburbs. It's as basic as you'd expect for the North East Wales League, with changing rooms, a small car park and a couple of pitches.

On a bright and sunny evening, with plenty of goals, and good company from a few other groundhopping spectators, it was very enjoyable.
