Warrington and District League, Premier Division
Sankey Vale 3 Halebank 5 (att 20)
I usually enjoy games in the Warrington League's top division, and this eight-goal thriller was no exception.
Sankey Vale started very well and it wasn't long before they were ahead. It took time for Halebank to settle into the match, but once they did they scored twice to turn the game around.
The first half scoring wasn't over though, as the home side hit back to level before the end of a very entertaining opening 45 minutes.
The second period was barely a minute old when Halebank went back in front, and midway through the half they scored again to go 4-2 up. Sankey Vale never looked out of it though, and a penalty for handball got them back into the game.
A draw might have been a fair outcome, but as the home side pushed for an equaliser they conceded a late fifth, securing all three points for Halebank.
Sankey Vale play at Warrington Sports Club. It's on a leafy edge of the town and seems to caters for various sports and events. The playing surface looked excellent.
