Football League Youth Alliance Cup, Group 3
AFC Wimbledon U18 0 Millwall U18 1 (att 47)
My first Youth Alliance game of the season, after a failed attempt to see a game at Hereford back in August. No problems at Wimbledon's youth team venue, the well-maintained King's Sports Ground in New Malden.
The match was played on pitch one, nearest the impressive two-storey pavilion, while an under 16s match was was on pitch two. One touchline was roped off for spectators, with the opposite side reserved for coaches and subs.
Millwall scored eight against Wimbledon in league match last month, but although the visitors dominated from the start they had to settle for a single goal, which didn't come until the 68th minute. They should have scored more, and nearly paid for their failure to convert chances close to the end when, in a rare attack, Wimbledon hit the post.
