Yet another early season visit to a newly promoted club. Meliden have stepped up to the Welsh Alliance from the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League, and this convincing win was their second in the first two games.
Llandyrnog played their part in an entertaining game, in front of a good sized crowd on a pleasant sunny evening in Meliden, a few miles from Prestatyn.
Meliden scored the only goal of a first half they just about had the better of, but stepped up a gear after the break scoring twice in quick succession to put the game out of reach. Llandyrnog had some hope after getting a goal back, but it was soon extinguished by a fourth goal for Meliden. A late second for the visitors rounded off the scoring.
Meliden returned to their home ground during last season, after a lengthy spell away to allow for work on the venue. It's a neat and tidy ground, with the railed off pitch enclosed by the back gardens of surrounding houses.
