Myles N. Kenyon Cup, Semi Final
Prestwich 0 Walshaw Sports Club 5 (att 30)
Down to the last four of the annual pre-season Myles N Kenyon Cup, but any chances the home side had of making the final disappeared in the first 20 minutes.
That's how long it took Walshaw to score three times, and they could easily have added another couple as they dominated from the start. Prestwich eventually found their feet, but there was no way back and two second half goals completed the rout.
Prestwich are beginning their second season based at Hopwood Hall College in Middleton, a few miles from their previous home that was in Prestwich itself.
The last time I was at Hopwood Hall was to see Accrington Stanley's youth team, on a pitch to the right as you enter the college complex. Prestwich play on a separate sports field, adjacent to the car park at the end of the entrance road.
There's two pitches which, judging by the goalposts, are used for either football or rugby. The far pitch has a pair of dugouts, but this game was played on the pitch closer to the changing rooms.
