Neston Nomads 1 Hooton 2 (att 65)
The last time I saw a Neston Nomads home game they were playing at Vauxhall Motors. But before then, back in 2013, I first visited them at the Neston Recreation Centre.
They're now back there again, but on a 3G pitch that's a more recent addition. It's adjacent to the grass pitch used in 2013, and is evidence of the club developing some decent facilities.
The artificial pitch is floodlit and enclosed by the usual high fence. There's a spectator area running the full length of one side, although on a summer evening it did mean peering towards the setting sun.
The game was a hard fought and close affair. Hooton scored first but the home side levelled before half time. The visitors' well worked second goal was the only score in a tight second period, and was enough to win all three points.
