Sandbach Town Ramblers 1 Hartford 1 (att 30)
It's 11 years since I visited the Sandbach Community Football Centre for a Sandbach United home game. Back then it was new, and the club played in the Cheshire League.
Both the club and the ground have progressed since, but Cheshire League football is now played on the outer pitches which are home to Sandbach Town Ramblers, newly promoted from the Crewe and District League.
There are several grass pitches beyond the main arena and 3G, all roped off between wooden posts. This game was on pitch four, furthest away from where United were playing Stockport Town in the North West Counties League.
Ramblers and Hartford both lost their opening league fixtures at the weekend so a point each gets them off the mark. There was little between the sides, and it took a penalty just before half time for the visitors to break the deadlock.
The hosts equalised with about 10 minutes left, setting up a decent finale as both sides pushed for a winner. Despite chances at both ends there were no more goals, and a draw was a fair outcome.
