West Riding FA, Challenge Cup, Second Round
Flying Dutchman 1 Leeds Medics and Dentists 8 (att 25)
A lot of divisions separate the second level of the Halifax and District League from the top flight of the Yorkshire Amateur League. You wouldn't have known that during the first half at Ellen Royd Playing Field.
The home side matched their higher-ranked visitors, and twice hit the crossbar before falling behind. They weren't losing for long though, hitting back to go into half time at 1-1.
Maybe the small pitch, which doubles as a rugby venue, was making the game tough for the Leeds side. Whatever the problem was, they rectified it emphatically in a one-sided second half.
Flying Dutchman, who take their name from a Halifax pub, were in the game until the visitors got their third goal. After that it was a case of how many they'd score, and they reached eight.
