Killingworth Sporting v Walker Central

11am  6 May 2013

Northern Alliance, Premier Division
Killingworth Sporting 2 Walker Central 2 (att 33)

All four goals were in an exciting first half at Amberley Park. Both sides had hit the crossbar before Killingworth scored early on, doubling their lead not long later.

Walker's fightback began with a penalty, awarded for a clear push in the penalty area, and was completed thanks to an amazing bicycle kick volley from the edge of the box. Possibly the best goal I've seen all season, although I doubt the scorer would have as much luck if he tried the trick again.

Having set a high standard for entertainment in the first half, the second period couldn't live up to it, but despite the lack of further goals it was a decent game, with Killingworth's keeper making some decent saves.

Killingworth is just to the north of Newcastle, and Amberley Park looks a new venue. A modern red brick pavilion houses the changing rooms, and is next to the main senior pitch, which runs lengthways and is railed off.
