Eversley v Hartley Wintney

11.30am  9 April 2012
Combined Counties League, Division One
Eversley 1 Hartley Wintney 3 (att 70)

An entertaining local derby between two of the better sides in the second tier of the Combined Counties League.

Eversley took an early lead from a free kick, but the visitors were deservedly level before half time, thanks to the home keeper letting a free kick slip under his body and between his legs.

It was a good contest but Hartley Wintney always looked the better side, and were good value for the two second half goals which sealed the win, keeping them in with a chance of promotion.

Eversley's ground is still fairly new, and impressive if a little spartan for spectators, especially on a wet and windy morning.

The programme, a pre-printed shell with a single page insert, was only available from half time onwards. Given its £4 price tag included admission to the game I was surprised the club didn't make more effort to sell them, and I guess it was only programme collectors among the crowd who actually paid to get in.
