Aston Park Rangers v Sychdyn

6.15pm  7 April 2014

Clwyd East League
Aston Park Rangers 4 Sychdyn 3 (att 9)

Having seen Aston Park Rangers score nine at Cornist Park last week I expected them to win comfortably again tonight, at home to the team who've slipped to bottom of the table following Cornist Park's withdrawal from the league.

But it was the visitors who went ahead in just third minute, then doubling their lead before Aston Park Rangers got into their stride. When the home side did get on top it didn't take long before the goals started, and by half time they led 3-2.

The second half was a quieter affair, Aston scoring to extend their lead before Sychdyn scored a third to reduce the arrears. Not a bad game, and as this was my final venue in it a good way to complete the league.

Aston Park Rangers play at the 33 Club in Shotton Lane, Shotton. I'm not sure what the 33 Club is, or was, but the only facilities are changing rooms near the entrance and a very muddy pitch that was roped off along one touchline.
