Harlow Town v Brentwood Town

7.45pm  2 October 2012

Isthmian League, Division One North
Harlow Town 0 Brentwood Town 5 (att 98)

After a weekend of watching football in the hot Armenian sunshine it was back to reality at a wet and windy Barrows Farm Stadium in Essex.

It was also back to the reality of pricing at this level of football in England. While the Armenian Premier League games I went to were free, it now costs a whopping £9 to watch Harlow play at the eighth level of English football.

The steep admission price might be a factor for the small crowd, although the weather won't have helped, nor would the fact that this was the third meeting between the two clubs in the last fortnight.

Their clashes in the FA Trophy were a goalless draw at Brentwood, before Harlow succumbed 4-0 in the replay. If they fancied their chances of revenge tonight they were to be disappointed.

Brentwood scored the only goal of the first half, before running away with against a very leaky home defence in the second period. It could be hard season ahead for Harlow.
