Ribchester had already secured the title, but went into this game needing a win to complete the short summer season with a 100% winning record. They achieved that, but it wasn't easy. A scrappy first half ended goalless, with few if any shots on target. Ribchester began the second period positively, breaking the deadlock just moments after the restart. They quickly added a well-worked second goal, but Fylde Coast recovered and continued to match the champions in terms of effort if not skill.
